So you decided to take a limo trip around DC. The nation’s capital is really an incredible place to tour, and if you are going to take a trip by limo, you will want to stock the back up with your favorite wines and check out the following locations…
1. Washington Monument
Get your juvenile humor out of the way, because the stark, white simplicity of the building is really something to take in when you actually get there.
2. Vietnam War Memorial
In a world full of tacky monuments, this somber, dignified memorial shows true respect for the people who fought overseas. One of the most well designed memorials in the country, this wall of names gives due regard to those who died in Vietnam.
3. Lincoln Memorial
Abraham Lincoln is the guy everyone goes to when they want to get advice from a dead guy’s statue. Check it out for yourself and see if he has any wisdom to share with you.
4. Library of Congress
The Library of Congress is a massive building with a lot of books in it. Stay outside and you won’t have to do any reading, but it makes for a great photo op, even just sticking your head out the top with a cell phone in hand.
5. The White House
Duh, right? But seriously, you would be surprised how many people live in D.C. without ever actually taking an up close look at the building. It is sort of like the Statue of Liberty in New York: most people who live there take it for granted.
Of course, zooming by these spots in a limo might not be the best way to see them, but a quick trip through town will at least give you the lay of the land and when you want to visit these spots later, you will know how to find them.
